This page will be where I post the occasional (infrequent) photos
involving friends of Scruffy Eagle; especially, regarding those who
are musicians.

Please note: I haven't made any effort to sort these in any manner other than
what seems to me to make an entertaining story; i.e., the sequence you find these
items in has nothing to do with their importance to me, sequence they occurred in, (etc.).

This picture was taken February 28, 2004, in the living room of my good friends, Dan & Sue Meier. They were poised on the verge of moving out of the region, and they'd hosted a "going away" party for their many close friends to have a get-together with all present one last time.

See the spirit?

The food was good, the company was excellent, and the gathering occurred without hitch or incident. After most of the other guests had left, Dan & I sat down to do some jamming together - it was our last chance for this, since moving day was approaching all too rapidly. Honestly, I've lost track of whether this photo was taken by Sue or by another friend, Nancy. Either way, it was nice to receive it after the party's pictures had been developed. Dan's musical styles include Country, Country Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, and probably a few other things. We harmonized well together - probably, better than any other musician I've had the privilege of practicing with (so far). An interesting aspect of this picture, is that it shows clearly that Dan & I have almost identical guitars (both are cedar-top Seagull S-6 guitars). The only difference, is that his is older than mine by a couple of years. Its resonant voice in the hands of a skilled player, is a wonderful thing to hear.

This is a photo of my good friend, the multi-talented musician known as, "Fisherman Rich". The perfect cat he's holding is his good friend, "Precious". They're currently living in Omro, WI. He gave me this photo just before I left to return north to Michigan, after visiting with him for 2 days. Rich plays drums, bass guitar, keyboard, and harmonica. He also sings; mainly, Rock & Blues. Precious (as far as I know) doesn't play any instruments - but, he's a really nice guy. He even tolerated my Black Labrador, Clever, running loose in the mobile home without excessive hissing, swiping with claws, etc.

See the spirit?

Rich & I practiced together for many years - usually, it was him on the drums, and me doing rhythm guitar & singing. Maybe some day I can acquire a photo of the 3rd man of our occasional impromptu practice trio, Garrett? Hard to say,... I haven't talked with Garrett for many years. I intend to go visit Richie again, as soon as I can manage to do so. Hopefully, next time, we'll have the chance to do some jamming together - maybe, even, hitting one of the local "Open Stage" events.

Good news: As of 08-01-04, Rich has moved from Omro to Oshkosh. This will help him be more musically active in public settings, as he wants & needs to be. Terrible news: Precious was in an accident, and died. Good news: A friend who will be nearby in Oshkosh is taking in Rich'es dog, Corky - so Corky will be well cared for, and Rich will be able to visit him on a regular basis. (His new apt. won't allow pets.)

Bad news: The situation in the newly acquired Oshkosh apartment went sour almost immediately. A neighbor Richie had known at some point in the past (previously) was there in the building in Oshkosh - and, made Richie's life a constant struggle, not mention worry regarding assault and battery from that violent man. Good news: Richie was able to get out of the lease without problem. He's now relocated into Berlin, WI, about 30 miles west of Oshkosh. I've been there to visit (around the start of April, 2005) - and, his apartment was wonderful. It's located upstairs from a Baptist church, so he can practice his drums any daytime hours when there isn't a service going on below him. (Good deal!) There's a river, only a few blocks away, so he can easily walk over for the sake of his beloved fishing. NOTE: An extra, unexpected(?) side-benefit of his move into Berlin, is that it's created opportunity for him to see his son that was stolen from him by the kid's mother. Nothing has changed on the legal situation, so Richie is still wrongfully obstructed from actually functioning as his kid's father - but, at least they now have the chance to know who each other are. The down side of this relocation to Berlin, is that there aren't any music stores, and so far Richie hasn't been able to locate anywhere to perform or musicians to practice with. I'm hoping that given time, settling into the new town and developing relationships with the people around him, chances to perform music with other musicians will occur for him.

This is a photo of my good friend, Jim. I took this picture of him at the campground he was staying at during his visit into the U.P. during 2002. Jim is a talented guitar player; mainly Rock and Blues, with a large repertoire of memorized songs. The last time I had contact with him, he was living in Evanston, IL.

Jim & I practiced together for many years. He would play lead & comping lines, and I would do rhythm guitar parts. We took turns singing, depending on who knew the words to whatever it was we were practicing. I intend to go visit Jim again, as soon as I can manage to do so.

I made a new friend, the weekend of 03/24/09. Her name is Tammy Phillips. She's the new vocalist for the "Bear Creek Band". We had a wonderful time talking together, during the 2 nights the band was there at the LVD Casino. She's talented, pretty, and sweet. I can't wait to see her again.

The following photo was taken by Tammy's friend:

This page simply wouldn't be complete, without photos of my good friend, Clever. He's very difficult to photograph, because he's jet-black. However, I had a good sunny day available right about when he turned 3 years old - and, I got some photos where you can actually see features on him. I'm "framing" my photographic subject here, for the sake of presenting those features; some shots show stuff you can't see in others. Also, presenting 3 pics of him shows 3 different moods, to hint at his intelligence.

Cute, isn't he?

What had he noticed?

He decided this was fun!

I consider myself fortunate, that Clever doesn't attempt to join in the fun when I'm practicing music. He's nice & quiet, when he sees that I'm recording stuff.

I originally got Clever as an appropriate defensive maneuver against my ex (Mary) & her convicted felon home-invader boyfriend (Frank), who'd committed assault & battery against me in Illinois. The law considered them unreproachable re. that ambush, though - she is, after all, a mother, and I was a father. And, the Highland Park Police told me that because Frank had freely admitted committing the assault & battery against me, it created a condition of "double jeopardy" and he couldn't be prosecuted for the crime. Instead, I was immediately assaulted again - this time, with an Order Of Protection founded on blatant perjury. The feminazis in control of the Lake County, IL court systems made sure Mary got virtually everything she was requesting. They needed to make sure that Eileen wouldn't have the benefit of a father present during her childhood - this is a common deterrent being applied, to obstruct the chances that normal families will be formed in the next generation. (Growing up without a father makes it more likely that it will be perceived as normal and acceptable.) Even after I fled beyond harm's immediate reach, 350 miles barrier wasn't enough to guarantee my safety in this age of planes, trains, cars, and public transportation systems. So, I got a dog. (It's an accepted fact, that burglars are scared of breaking into homes that have dogs.) Now that he's grown up, Clever is almost exactly 100 pounds of muscular, athletic, healthy, highly intelligent, very quiet, difficult to see, fairly well trained protector with large, sharp teeth set in powerful jaws. He's a good friend to have around.

IN CONCLUSION
I hope you've enjoyed my little photo gallery! If I discover at some point that there's more to share, this is where I'll post such items.
